Tumeric has been used in traditional herbal remedies for centuries and has recently experienced a surge in popularity on social media due to its highly instagrammable vibrant yellow hue.
There are two active ingredients in turmeric….tumerone and curcumin. Studies suggest that curcumin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and research is ongoing to its other health benefits.

350 ml almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
1/4 tsp of each ground turmeric, cinnamon and ginger
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp maple syrup
grind of black pepper
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk constantly over a gentle heat, ideally with a milk frother if you have one.
Once hot, pour into mugs and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve.
